Our Editorial Philosophy

At Vortex Sutra, every submission is approached with respect, integrity, and a commitment to literary excellence. Our editorial team works collaboratively to preserve authentic voices while maintaining thoughtful editorial standards. We believe every poet deserves to be read with care, regardless of experience or publication history.

Eva Seraphine

Founder & Editor-in-Chief

Founded Vortex Sutra in 2021 as a global literary initiative dedicated to cultivating poets, preserving authentic voices, and building a lasting home for contemporary poetry.

Eva oversees the editorial vision, publication strategy, and long-term development of Vortex Sutra Publications.

Ramsay Short

Poetry Editor Ramsay Short is an award-winning journalist, editor, and author with more than 15 years of editorial experience. He is a contributing writer for Condé Nast Traveler and the founding editor of Time Out Beirut. He is also the author of The Hedonist's Guide to Beirut.
 

Throughout his career, Ramsay's work has appeared in leading international publications including The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, Financial Times Magazine, BA High Life, and New York Magazine, among many others. He has also appeared alongside Anthony Bourdain as a local guide in multiple episodes of No Reservations and Parts Unknown for the Travel Channel and CNN.
 

Currently based in London, Ramsay serves as Creative Director and Editor-in-Chief of The Sounder, an arts journal published by Beirut's independent bookstore Papercup. As Poetry Editor for Vortex Sutra Publications, he brings extensive editorial expertise, literary insight, and an international perspective to the review and development of original poetry for publication.

Guest Editor & Editorial Reader

Jae Mar supports anthology development, editorial review, and publication planning while helping identify original voices that reflect the mission of Vortex Sutra.

 

She also works alongside the editorial team to develop future literary publications and strengthen the organization's global community of poets.
